What are the best flowers for making potpourri?

Posted by admin
Iris asked:

I want to make (potpourri: dried flower petals) to save some of that goodness for the rest of the year, and just because they are so delightful!

This is my first attempt to preserve flowers, I know I missed the cherry blossoms this year, but there are still plenty of very nice flowers in my neighborhood with very nice people, so I guess I’ll go around and ask for premissons :P
Here are my questions to you:

What do you think are the best flowers for potpourri?

How do you prefer to your flowers dried? (hanged, pressed, sand, etc)

Thanks!
