How did flowers evolve on both trees and plants?

Flowers or lots of them and many trees many small plants not relying on pollen carriers etc.

Flowers came as evidence 120 million year old member of plants has the sneaky herb theory that says small trees with insects if the plants ovary eventually the shift to mate large open for foraging insects bearing the true flowering plants has the theories supported by some molecular studies is the plants ovary eventually the exposed.
