What are some flowers or plants that are low maintenance, fragrant , and colorful?

I am now disabled and unable to garden the way I used to. My yard now looks a mess. I can not afford a gardener on a regular basis but I have been considering having someone claen out the yard and perhaps plant some all purpose plants and flowers. :-)
