What are some fast growing flowers in Southern California spring weather?

My friend is planning to grow flowers for a friend. We’re growing them from seeds and outdoors in April. What kind of flowers would be able to grow in a month or so and are not high-maintenance? Please include the time it took for them to blossom!

What are the best plants/flowers to plant for extreme heat/sun?
