What are some types of flowers that can be put in pots?

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008
fishyfish302 asked:

I have two 1.5ft X .75ft (roughly) pots. I want flowers in them.
They are outside on my windowsill, and they would get enough sunlight. I’m also responsible enough to water them.

But i still need to know what kinds of plants i want in them!

I want color and something that can be planted close to other plants. (No big roots.)

What kinds of flowers am i looking for?

Michael

It’s get below freezing in the winter here so we have to fact that in this.

Does anyone have any great ideas of what I can plant in their memorials that will come back year after year and get bigger too? One idea I’m playing is rose bushes. Does anyone know of plants that have beautiful flowers to remind me of them at their graveside?I’m open to suggestions. Can anyone please help me out here?

Thank You for all the suggestions with this!

What are the trees with purple flowers in southern california?

Monday, December 8th, 2008
LORI asked:

I was in LA area (Fullerton/Anaheim maybe?) many years ago and I can’t remember the name of some flowering trees I saw there.
I tthink it was early summer but I’m not totally sure of the season, and these trees were all in bloom with pretty purple flowers. They seemed to grow pretty large, they definitely weren’t bushes or anything, but normal sized trees.
Does anyone have an idea of what the trees could have been? They seemed to be pretty common. Thanks!

How do you store silk flowers without crushing them?

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008
luv’nthe80s asked:

Can anyone suggest how to store silk flowers so as not to crush them. Some flowers can snap back but some can’t. I’d rather not find out which ones of mine can’t as they are expensive. I’m looking for a way to store them in an upright position in a small walk-in closet. I have them loosely packed in boxes now but this is not an ideal long-term storage remedy for me. I want them organized and in pristine condition.
Thanks for the help!

How do you prepare real flowers that will be placed on a wedding cake?

Monday, December 1st, 2008
Rodnie A asked:

I’ve been asked to use real hydrangeas on a wedding cake that I will make and I just want to know if there is a proper method to prepare the flowers for arrangement on the cake. I don’t want to just cut the stems and stick the flower in the cake. I’m being mindful of the fact that the cake will most definitely be consumed. I don’t want the wedding guests to get sick.
